1983
... where it all began

An unexpected encounter brought together Mr. Alves, owner of a car wash with a background in the textile industry, and Crivelli, an Italian fashion agent, marking the beginning of this story.

On that day in 1983, after a service mishap, they met and discovered shared visions and business ideas, which later took shape when they joined forces with the Meireles family, renowned in Portugal for their tradition in handcrafted tailoring. Thus, Crialme was born.

Since then, Crialme has embarked on a journey defined by precision, quality, and refined tailoring. Nowadays, we produce more than 200.000 garments annually for brands around the world.

1984

The founding year and establishment of Crialme.

1985

Start of production with trousers manufactured for the Austrian army.

1986

Opening of a second production unit due to an increase in orders from new clients based in Italy and England.

1990

Strong expansion into the Italian market with major clients such as Sanremo and GFT (owner of luxury brands), providing essential know-how for luxury garment manufacturing.

1992

Construction of a new factory to unify the existing production units.

1996

Expansion beyond Europe into the American market.

2000

Launch of a dedicated jacket production line.

2005

Textil industry crisis driven by trade agreements and rising costs. Crialme survived thanks to its quality-focused production.

2007

First steps into Made-to-Measure tailoring.

2011

Adoption of a hybrid production strategy combining high-volume with made-to-measure

2016

Modernization and expansion of production facilities

2018

Implementation of solar panels, reinforcing sustainability
